Who Is PryncesSyndrome

Starting a new chapter in my life. I’m becoming the Captain and Navigating my own destiny. I’ve searched for my purpose in life and found it in Creating. I create with my hands by way of writing and with my voice by way of singing. For years, I’ve struggled with myself trying to find my purpose; not being happy with working for someone else. I’ve always had an *entrepreneurial spirit* and knew that God had blessed me with too many talents not to share them with the world. I’ve always had a love for singing and writing. Dating back to my daddy playing Earth, Wind, and Fire, Prince, Commadores, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, or the incomparable Michael Jackson around the house in the evening. These are the melodies that rocked me to sleep at night. Becoming a singer and dancer is ALL I wanted to do. I would perform in front of family and friends and adopted the nickname *Boogie* from my dad.

Along the way, reality kicked in and a means to an end was necessary to help provide for my children; so my dreams were placed on hold. After the birth of my son in 2007, I decided to continue my education and start a business from home. Sensual Secrets (an adult online novelty gift shop, home parties, and gift baskets service) was born in September 2007 and I started Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, NJ. Returning to school was exciting but also scary. After being out of school for a long hiatus, it was a transition getting use to school again and also juggling a husband, house, and kids. Sensual Secrets had little success and my confidence was shattered. I decided to close up shop for a while and focus on obtaining my degree. In October 2009, I received my AA in Liberal Arts from TESC. It was such great accomplishment for me and also a great example to show my kids that at my age I did it.  I started the business back up and revamped the site changing the name to Nautoypia. Shortly after the relaunch, I decided that my heart wasn’t totally into it anymore. I still had the longing to be my own boss and to create something that I could leave to my children. I wanted to leave a legacy. I closed Nautoypia in 2011.

I begin to struggle once again with my purpose and what would truly make my hearts desire. Writing has always been a *safe haven* for me. A place where I could release the frustrations of the day, day-dream about never-ending fairy tales, or pour out my heart when it was crushed. I started to think more and more about taking writing more seriously. Writing and singing became more than a reality when my talent was noticed by an up and coming producer. He gave me the drive, courage, and initiative to go after my dreams. Currently, I’ve picked up my writing full-time, affiliate marketing (helping people achieve financial stability and success, and also opened the doors back up for Nautoypia Adult Toy Store Online. Fear has always been a factor in me not pursuing my dreams and aspirations. Fear almost made me miss my blessing. Fear could have been my destruction but I have overcome FEAR and it lives here no more~

  1. Hi!

Your “about” is very intriguing and I have to tell you that singing was always my passion, too, and my vocal idol was Streisand…in my later teens, I had several moments in the spotlight and encouragement to pursue my dream. However, after h.s. I chose a different path. I have no regrets because of my husband and kids (now 16 & 20) who are in my life…those are great memories I will hold onto and I wish you all the best, as well! Writing poetry and blogging is now my middle aged creative outlet! Nice to meet you and thanks so much for following me. I hope you continue to enjoy my writing~

  2. @purleydott Thank you! Fear is an emotion that will continue to rear its ugly head time and time again but we must learn how to face this demon head on. I’ve struggled with coming into my own only due to not having the support that I felt I should have. That was a MAJOR part in me dragging my feet also not feeling that I was good enough. Remember this…..anything worth having is worth putting in time and effort. At some point, your efforts put forth will be acknowledged. We are human so we expect things to happen over night but that’s just not reality. I hope you can draw strength from my writings and embrace your GOD GIVEN TALENTS. Know that support is here if you need it 🙂 I’m still a work in progress and this blog is really helping me open up my eyes, ears, and heart to receive Gods purpose.

  3. Hey,
Just sliding thru again! I was at work earlier when I chckd it out on my phn but I’m home and looking at it from the computer and this is def different. Its a very informative and insightful blog and Im happy that I was able to come across your path. I truly believe that GOD put things and ppl in your path for a reason and with that being said I believe there is a reason we crossed paths. I told you that you are the only person Ive talked to since i been on G+. So that has to mean something. Because all the things you are talkin about being afraid of things and procrastinating is how ive been feeling lately and I know I dnt have much more time to get out and do what I have to do. I know its a little cliche but “Time is of the Essence” and frankly I just dnt have anymore to waste. Sometimes I just need the encouragement and push from my peers to get me strtd and keep my spirits high bcuz @ times I tend to sit back and watch things pass me and I’m ready to go pass things instead and build my life to where it needs to be and where I want it to be!!

  5. Hi! My name is Sue, and I’m from SlimKicker, a diet/fitness app and site. I saw your blog a few days ago and it captured my interest!

I’m contacting you b/c we’re about to release a fitness tracker (similar to FitBit) early next year, and are looking for bloggers who would be interested in getting 1 for free to review when it is out (negative or positive).

Would you be interested in doing this? You can email me at: sue (at) slimkicker (com) with ‘Review’ in the email heading if you are.

In case you don’t know, our site SlimKicker basically turns your diet/fitness goals into a level-up RPG game. The tracker will work with the website, and allow people to track calories burned and number of steps they walk automatically. The more they exercise, the more points they rack up! That’s basically how it will work.

Anyway, hope to hear back either way…

    – Sue

  7. Wow, you are such an inspiration, I love your story. I see similarities, the fact that I have always wanted to dance and sing, and nothing else. Unfortunately things don’t always go our way and thou I may not have been happy working for someone else in a job that I didn’t want to do, I found happiness in my blog…and my happiness will be connecting with those who share the same passion, in hopes that they can share their inspiration behind what they do with me.

Keep pushing hard, and remember being happy in the most important thing in life. I wish you all the best and thou were thousands of miles apart, I hope that we could network and keep in touch through our blogs and social media.

  9. My name is %name&% and first off I want to say outstanding website.
I had a little question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. What do you do to clear your thoughts and find your center of focus before you sit down to write? I have had problems with clearing my mind in order to get my ideas out. I really do love writing, however it just seems like the first ten to 15 mins are lost merely just trying to figure out how to start. Do you have any advice or techniques?

    • Thanks! Everyone is different but for me, I tend to not write until I feel compelled or if something comes to me. Don’t try to force it. Writing is a natural ability that has to be nurtured and fine tuned. Find a nice comfy place that motives you to be creative and make sure not to put too much pressure on yourself. Write as much as you can but when it’s time to walk away, do so. You have to give you mind down time as well so it produces great material. I hope this helps 🙂

    • TY! I would say definitely start out with a free platform and I love WordPress. Also, tips….patience is BIG and necessary. I’m not on her as much as I should be because I have businesses that I run as well. Be authentic, figure out your target audience, and your writing style. Stay true to self and remember to constantly perfect your craft so that you can continue to get better. I hope this will help and if here is anything else I can do to be of assistance, just reach out to me here 🙂 Blessings to you as well and I truly appreciate your kind words. PS~
